Permanent Jewelry FAQ + Handmade Jewelry FAQ
What is permanent jewelry?
Permanent jewelry is a custom-fit bracelet, anklet, or necklace. It is designed specifically to represent a special friendship, memory, event, or simply for fun. The selection includes chains made from solid 14k gold, sterling silver, 14k gold filled, and enamel with the option to add a charm or connector.
The process involves choosing a chain and measuring the wrist, ankle, or neck for a perfect fit and then welding the chain together.
We also have the option to create jewelry with a clasp.
Does it hurt to get permanent jewelry?
No, the process of attaching permanent jewelry is painless. The welding process involves a quick spark of heat to close the jewelry, but it doesn't come into contact with the skin.
How long does it last?
With proper care permanent jewelry should last for as long as you would like it to. Although, like any fine jewelry, the chains may experience wear and tear over time. *Gold-plated chains tend to tarnish overtime. Caution is advised during activities that may cause the chain to snag and break or stretch.
While labeled as "permanent," the jewelry can be easily removed by cutting the jump ring or chain with scissors or wire cutters.
We also have the option to create jewelry with a clasp.
How to care for it?
To maintain the jewelry's luster and longevity, regular cleaning is recommended.
Regular cleaning is recommended using a mild soap and water solution, gently rubbed with a soft toothbrush, and dry.
It's crucial to avoid exposing the jewelry to perfumes, makeup, sunscreen, hairspray, lotion, chlorine, well water, and other chemical products, as this can lead to tarnishing, especially in gold-plated or sterling silver jewelry. Gold Filled can also tarnish if there is continued exposure to chemicals.
Discoloration can result from the chemical examples listed above, especially when the jewelry is exposed to heat and acidic sweat. It is not indicative of low-quality materials or tarnishing.
